The role

As a Plant Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be part of a team managing the control of work, operations, maintenance, and upgrades to both historic and modern complex systems. You’ll also contribute to the development of a new facility designed to meet modern infrastructure standards and future operational needs.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll contribute to the delivery of physical modifications and engineering solutions that support the UK’s submarine programmes—making a meaningful impact on national defence and advancing your career in a high-stakes, high-reward environment. 

 

  • Authoring nuclear safety documentation to capture the status of facility plant and assets
  • Managing implementation of activities on site, liaising with stakeholders and guiding nuclear safety requirements
  • Controlling master documentation for nuclear safety management arrangements
  • Implementing and managing construction activities, modifications, and improvements to nuclear facilities and assets

 

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home.

 

Essential experience of the Plant Engineer

  • A questioning attitude and proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Familiarity with high-hazard industries such as electrical distribution or civil construction - Desirable

 

Qualifications for the Plant Engineer

  • Relevant STEM degree, or HNC qualification with significant experience in a relevant engineering discipline

 

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
