The role
As a Human Performance Specialist, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. As a dedicated Human Performance Specialist you’ll lead a workstream focused on the improvement of our company culture. The ideal candidate will have a background in health and safety, as well as experience in driving positive change within an organisation.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll be providing strong management of the operational governance of the whole nuclear site to ensure industry ‘best practice’, and a consistent approach to work practices, and form part of the wider Nuclear Operations Governance Group. 

 

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance our company culture, with a focus on adaptability, resilience, and well-being.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and create actionable plans to drive change.
  • Utilise data and analytics to measure the impact of cultural initiatives and make data-driven decisions.
  • Provide guidance and support to leaders and employees to help them build adaptability and resilience in the face of change and uncertainty.
  • Stay up to date with the latest research and best practices in human performance, well-being, and organisational culture.

 

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home.

 

Essential experience of the Human Performance Specialist

  • Working knowledge of nuclear industry standards such as World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) Performance Objectives and Criteria (PO and C) and other peer review bodies
  • Experience in management of the safety governance and associated Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs)
  • Experience In the establishing and implementing human performance programs within a large organisation. – oil/gas, power generation or another high hazardous industry 
  • Experience in the provision of support (and lead where appropriate) with event investigation, reporting and INES review
  • Expert knowledge of industry best performance improvement standards.

 

Qualifications for the Human Performance Specialist

  • Ideally Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., psychology, health and safety, organisational development) 

 

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
