The role

As a People Advisor Team Leader, you’ll play a vital role in delivering a modern, customer‑focused HR service that supports teams working across defence, aerospace and engineering. This is your opportunity to lead a group of dedicated People Advisors, ensuring they have the tools, direction and confidence they need to support colleagues across the business.

 

Your leadership will help shape the employee experience, drive service improvements, and strengthen the support offered by our PeopleCentre team. This is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract that offers the chance to make a meaningful impact while continuing to grow your own leadership and people management skills.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll be working in a collaborative environment where your ideas, initiative and coaching style will directly influence how effectively we support thousands of people delivering critical national capability.

 

  • Leading a team of People Advisors, ensuring service standards and performance expectations are met.
  • Motivating and developing the team, providing coaching, feedback and support to help them deliver an excellent customer experience.
  • Collaborating with other team leaders and HR colleagues to plan resource levels, forecast workload and maintain service consistency.
  • Supporting the team in handling varied queries by encouraging initiative, creative thinking and confident problem solving.
  • Ensuring that customer service areas are effectively resourced to meet demand and maintain high levels of service.

 

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements days onsite and days working from home.

 

Essential experience of the People Advisor Team Leader

  • Commitment to delivering an excellent customer experience.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive and professional relationships.
  • Ability to adapt, problem‑solve and maintain consistent service levels.
  • Motivational leadership skills with experience guiding and empowering others.
  • Creative thinking with a focus on continuous improvement in customer service.

 

Qualifications for the People Advisor Team Leader

  • CIPD Level 3 essential

 

Security Clearance

 

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
