The role

As a Painting Hub Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You'll have a unique opportunity to establish and lead a newly created Painting Hub that supports some of the UK's most important submarine programmes. This is an exciting leadership role where you'll shape a new operating model, build capability, develop people, and drive performance across painting and industrial cleaning activities.

 

 

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to

  • Lead the daily operation and development of the Painting Hub, ensuring resources are effectively deployed to support project priorities.
  • Chair plan and look-ahead meetings with key stakeholders to agree workload priorities and delivery schedules.
  • Manage team performance, capability development and workforce planning to maintain a skilled and effective workforce.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs, minimise waste and improve productivity and quality.
  • Collaborate with project teams, production managers and capability leaders to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality outcomes.

 

This role is full time and based at Devonport Royal Dockyard, Plymouth.

 

 

Essential experience of the Painting Hub Manager

  • Previous experience leading and managing teams with varying levels of skill and experience.
  • Experience within industrial painting, industrial cleaning, facilities maintenance or related operational environments.
  • Proven ability to plan, prioritise and allocate resources to meet operational demands.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders and communicating effectively across different teams.
  • Demonstrable track record of driving performance improvements, productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and business systems.

 

 

Qualifications for the Painting Hub Manager

 

Essential

  • Experience and capability to successfully manage operational teams in a production, maintenance or industrial environment.

 

Desirable

  • Chartered Management Institute Level 7 qualification or equivalent management qualification.
  • Nuclear Plant Foundation Course Module 1 (training can be provided).
  • IOSH Managing Safety Certification
  • Level 3 Painting Qualification or equivalent

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
