The role

As a Material and Inventory Planner, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You'll help ensure the right materials are available at the right time to keep critical operations running efficiently. Working at the heart of production, supply chain and project delivery, you'll have the opportunity to influence performance, drive continuous improvement and contribute to work that supports national security and essential infrastructure

 

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:

  • Planning and managing material requirements and planned orders through SAP and other business systems.
  • Monitoring inventory levels and ensuring material availability supports operational and production demands.
  • Collaborating with project, production, supply chain and inventory teams to enable effective short, medium and long-term planning.
  • Identifying, managing and mitigating supply risks while optimising inventory performance and value.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, data quality and overall supply planning performance.

 

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport.

 

 

Essential experience of the Material and Inventory Planner

  • Experience of inventory planning and inventory control techniques.
  • Strong analytical thinking, planning and organisational skills.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to take ownership of issues through to resolution.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement principles and practices.
  • Experience or knowledge of SAP systems would be advantageous.

 

 

Qualifications for the Material and Inventory Planner

  • Minimum Level 2 NVQ educational standard.
  • Experience in the use of Master Production Scheduling and Material Requirements Planning systems

 

 

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
