The role
As a Local Exhaust Ventilation Operative, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary where you’ll work in a safety critical role and will be required to perform accordingly. 

Day-to-day, you’ll install temporary ventilation throughout all projects within Devonport and satellites.

• Install temporary low pressure air systems throughout all projects within Devonport and satellites. 
• Maintain LEV equipment and carry out before use checks. 
• Complete all documentation in line with Dockyard policies and HSG 258.
• Carry out all other supports required by projects and management in line with LEV Services and competencies.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard. Successful candidates would need to be prepared to work shift work (Optimised Working Pattern – OWP) and overtime to support the business needs.

Essential experience of the Local Exhaust Ventilation Operative:
It would be beneficial, but not essential as training can be provided if applicants have the following:

• Previous experience working in a marine environment
• Knowledge of submarines and warships layouts
• Willingness to undertake development training as identified in a competency framework
• Ability to read and understand a functional procedures

Qualifications for the Local Exhaust Ventilation Operative:

• No formal qualifications required however a willingness to be trained on the job and attend any training required, in accordance with task competences

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
