The role
As a Lead Auditor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is a high-impact role where your expertise will help shape quality assurance across critical defence programmes.

Day-to-day, you’ll be part of our Central Quality Department, delivering independent assurance through cross-site management system audits. You’ll play a vital role in reviewing internal control procedures, identifying areas for improvement, and supporting the business in maintaining compliance with ISO standards.

Designing and implementing independent assurance activities.
Leading internal audits and reporting findings to the organisation.
Recommending and monitoring corrective actions to address root causes.
Supporting improvement initiatives and interpreting changes to standards.
Liaising with certification bodies and customer representatives during external audits.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements. The role is a fixed term contract for 52 weeks.

Essential experience of the Lead Auditor

Extensive knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and/or ISO 45001 standards.
Experience in CAPA, root cause investigation, and verification.
Proven auditing experience.
Understanding of change management and improvement programmes.
Knowledge of MOD quality systems, Nuclear Licence Conditions, and business management systems (advantageous).

Qualifications for the Lead Auditor

Lead Auditor Qualification or Internal Auditor Qualification.

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
