The Role
As a Finance Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Working in our newly structured Major Nuclear Capital Programmes (MNCP) business unit, you’ll be focusing on the provision of financial services and business partnering with operational managers to deliver the required financial performance of the areas under responsibility.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll be expected to maintain robust control and governance framework; as well as providing leadership, development and support required for the MNCP business unit and finance director:

 

  • Manage production of monthly, quarterly and 5 year financial actual / forecast reporting.
  • Maintaining complete and accurate accounting records.
  • Ensuring that contract amounts are billed accurately, in full and on time to ensure efficient cash collection.
  • Ensure appropriate accounting standards are applied including IFRS 15.
  • Projects are reviewed regularly in accordance with required governance.

 

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and requires regular travel to our Devonport site, in Plymouth, on a weekly basis alongside home working arrangements.

 

Essential Experience of the Finance Manager: 

  • Detailed knowledge of financial systems.
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Demonstratable people skills and ability of working in a collaborative environment.
  • IFRS 15 long term contract accounting knowledge is highly desirable.
  • Ideally, you will have a background in a highly regulated industry such as defence but, this is not essential.

 

Qualifications for the Finance Manager: 

  • You must hold a recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, ACMA) or equivalent.

 

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
