The role
As an EC&I Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary where you will support the team in providing their technical responsibilities to the business as part of the Design Authority.

 

Day to day, you’ll provide professional technical support to the ongoing operation and maintenance of DRDL C&I systems and equipment. 

 

  • Maintaining configuration of technical drawings and documentation.
  • Prescription and periodic review of C&I maintenance regimes and activities.
  • Specifying replacement equipment and components. 
  • Supporting change management and configuration processes.
  • Responding to formal technical queries.
  • Undertaking asset condition and obsolescence surveys.

 

This role is full time - 36 hours and will be based at on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard with hybrid working from home arrangements.

 

Essential experience of the EC&I Engineer:

  • Understand electrical control principles. 
  • Familiar with different types of electrical instruments and their applications. 
  • Awareness of the general regulations, legislation and standards that are applicable to electrical engineering, i.e. the IET Wiring Regulations BS7671.
  • Ability to understand and produce electrical engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Experience of fault diagnosis and rectification activities. 

 

Qualifications for the EC&I Engineer:

  • A minimum of HNC or equivalent in an Electrical/Electronic Engineering discipline.

 

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
