The role

As a Commercial Support Advisor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Join as a Commercial Support Advisor, assisting the Commercial Specialist across key responsibilities. Use your strong communication skills to build stakeholder relationships, working with internal teams and external partners, including MOD and suppliers.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll Oversee contracts, process variations, support governance alignment, manage registers, provide recommendations, assist commercial tasks, and ensure proper information asset handling as Information Asset Owner (IAO)

  • Manage contract obligations efficiently.
  • Process contract variation orders within the change lifecycle.
  • Support corporate governance to ensure legal and regulatory alignment.
  • Oversee commercial registers, providing recommendations and actions.
  • Assist the commercial team with management plans, presentations, and briefings, while ensuring proper handling of information assets as an IAO.

 

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

 

Essential experience of the Commercial Support Advisor

  • Organised, logical, and diligent, with strong workload prioritisation and attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator with solid presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with Commercial and Contract Management principles.
  • Proactive and inquisitive, with a focus on continual improvement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

 

Qualifications for the Commercial Support Advisor

  • HNC / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject.
  • Eager to pursue and obtain World Commerce & Contracting (WCC) accreditation.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
