The role
As a Commercial Specialist, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Join Babcock and shape the future of engineering! Day-to-day, you’ll focus on enhancing commercial performance across the organisation, ensuring operational efficiency, strategic growth, and excellence in execution.  

• Drive commercial excellence across contracts and projects, ensuring acceptable terms and conditions.
• Guide tendering, negotiation, and subcontract placement with diligence and expertise.
• Support pre-tender estimates, cost planning, project monitoring, and subcontractor claim reviews.
• Oversee contract administration in line with requirements and corporate governance.
• Provide specialist guidance across all contracts within expertise.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.

Essential experience of the Commercial Specialist

• Comprehensive knowledge of building and construction.
• Experience in MOD contracting.
• Familiarity with NEC 4 - Desirable.
• Project management expertise required.
• Specialism in a relevant field, such as Civils, Mechanical, or Electrical, is advantageous.

Qualifications for the Commercial Specialist

• Degree, HNC, or HND in business, business law, or commercial law preferred.
• MCIOB, MRICS, or similar qualification highly desirable.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
