The role
As an Assistant Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join a friendly and motivated team of people who are proud to ensure that our work is compliant and safe. 

 

Day-to-day, the Radioactive Waste Team is focused on site wide waste demand, governance, project integration and technical support to the business.

 

  • This role is to support the management of several projects across the Radioactive Waste Management Organisation’s Devonport site. 
  • Supporting the development and update of programmes and financially managing each project at all stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain a strong and open relationship with key stakeholders identified for the project and pursue resolution of technical or conflicting project requirements so a full understanding of the requirements can be agreed.  
  • To prepare budget proposals and monitor costs to completion preparing appropriate reports for accountability meetings with both Babcock and MOD.
  • To develop Statements of Requirements and evaluate tender responses, make written recommendations to assist with the selection of competent contractors for the supply of equipment/services.

 

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working.

 

Essential experience of the Assistant Project Manager

  • Relevant experience within a project management delivery environment. 
  • Able to demonstrate a good level of organisation with the ability to self-manage and produce information and output reports.
  • Has a good knowledge of APM philosophy and is an advance user of Microsoft Office suite of software.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with stakeholders.

 

Qualifications for the Assistant Project Manager

  • HNC in an engineering subject or equivalent experience. 
  • Appropriate APM qualification.  

 

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
