The role
As a Third Line Support Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will support the development and implementation of new services across the network. 

 

Day-to-day, you’ll represent the engineering discipline at design reviews and customer meetings to ensure the quality and supportability of the network as well as:

 

  • Managing the team to support diagnosis and resolution of incidents on the network, ensuring customer and operational teams are kept advised of progress
  • Leading, developing and recruiting team members to address changing technologies and customer requirements
  • Supporting the development and implementation of new services and technologies, attending and leading design reviews, and ensuring knowledge transfer into the team
  • Leading the engineering process for transfer of services into the operational environment ensuring that suitable training documentation and equipment are provided
  • Building, maintaining and developing system reference models to allow performance investigation and testing of enhancement prior to deployment

 

This position involves travel/working across a range of internal and customer sites, as a requirement of the role.

 

This role is full time, 37-hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with three days in the office/onsite and two days working from home.

 

Essential experience of the Third Line Support Manager

  • Significant experience in the defence or telecoms industries
  • Demonstratable experience in managing an engineering team.
  • Good knowledge of TCP/IP systems and technologies, and synchronous and asynchronous communication protocols
  • Experience of satellite communications and the management of crypto devices
  • Good leadership and interpersonal skills

 

Qualifications for the Third Line Support Manager

  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Cisco Accreditation- CCNA or above would be an advantage

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role.
