The role
As a Test and Integration Lead, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Providing Test and Integration Engineering expertise across the Skynet programme reporting to the Project Engineering Manager.


Day-to-day, you’ll have the following key responsibilities:

  • Manage ITEA governance, test facilities, and test engineering team in liaison with the Requirements and Acceptance Lead and Service Assurance Manager, 
  • Lead on all of the activities to achieve the Integration Verification and Validation (IV&V) Strategy in accordance with the Customer Integration, Test, Evaluate, Acceptance Plan (ITEAP), and associated Engineering Process, tailored to the needs of the Contract and associated Replenish work packages.
  • Represent the Programme at the Test and Evaluation Working Group (TEWG) and leading and advising Test and Compliance activities including the generation of test documentation, schedule and reporting for, but not limited to: Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), Installation Inspections (II), IT and Security Health Checks (ITSHC) in liaison with the Information Assurance Lead, MCTA Harbour Acceptance Trials (HAT) and Sea Acceptance Trials (SAT), Customer led Acceptance Events for Commissioning
  • Ensure test activities are coherent with other project deliverables and that relevant measures of performance are applied and ensure quality and integrity of ITEA evidence in support of compliance to the Contract Requirements in liaison with the Requirements and Acceptance Lead.


This role is full time and requires regular travel to Hawthorne, Corsham, Oakhangar, alongside home working arrangements.


Essential experience of the Test and Integration Lead:

  • Extensive and demonstrable systems engineering experience with specialism in Integration,  Verification, Validation (IV&V) and Transition to Operation at Lead Practitioner/Expert Level.
  • Knowledge of UK MoD practices and ways of working
  • Conversant with accreditation standards for bringing into service telecommunications systems including bespoke and COTS software applications.
  • Experience in delivery in a SOSA environment.
  • Test Team leadership experience


Qualifications for the Test and Integration Lead:

  • Degree or HNC/HND or equivalent in Telecommunications or another engineering discipline. Applications are also welcomed from individuals with significant demonstrable experience who don’t hold formal qualifications
