The Role
As a Senior Service Manager - Core Infrastructure, you’ll be at the heart of one of the UK’s most critical defence programmes: Skynet. This is a unique opportunity to lead the delivery of core infrastructure services that underpin the UK Ministry of Defence’s military satellite communications system and ground stations.
You’ll be responsible for upgrading existing services and defining new ones, ensuring they meet operational and business needs. This role offers the chance to make a real impact - supporting national security, driving innovation, and growing your career in a dynamic and purpose-driven environment.
Day-to-day you’ll be:
- Managing delivery of Core Infrastructure services across Skynet, supporting critical defence operations
- Acting as the key contact for the Service Management team and customer for infrastructure-related matters
- Shaping strategic infrastructure plans based on operational needs and future capability
- Defining long-term infrastructure strategy aligned with business goals
- Overseeing financial performance of the Core Infrastructure domain
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days onsite and 2 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Senior Service Manager
- Proven experience in service management.
- Background in operational data communications environments.
- Understanding of ITIL V3 or V4 and service lifecycle management.
- Experience leading multifunctional teams and managing service performance.
- Familiarity with military contracts or satellite communications is beneficial.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. The successful candidate will need to achieve Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance in the future.
