The role
As a Requirements Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This role will provide Requirements and Acceptance Engineering expertise across the Skynet programme reporting to the Requirements and Acceptance Lead.


Day-to-day, you’ll design and maintain the Requirements and Acceptance Data Base (RADB) and building acceptance and test cases linked to Verification and Validation Requirements Matrix, as well as:

  • Working with the system solution architects to elicit, derive, decompose, and manage system and sub-system requirements.
  • Leading requirements activities for work packages working with the Engineering and Design team while maintaining requirements traceability to architecture and deliverable capabilities.
  • Supporting Validation, Verification, Test and Acceptance activities and participating in the development, building, testing and trialling of solutions
  • The creation of high-quality specifications and project documentation in line with Babcock process and tailoring as required to achieve the output for the Requirements and Acceptance lead


This role is full time and is a hybrid role with a mixture of working from home and working onsite at either our Hawthorn or Bristol site.

 

Essential experience of the Requirements Engineer:

  • Extensive and demonstrable systems engineering experience with specialism in Requirements Definition, Verification, Validation and Transition to Service
  • Knowledge of UK MoD practices and ways of working
  • Practitioner in Determining and Managing Stakeholder Requirements, Requirements Validation and Transition to Operation
  • Conversant with accreditation standards for bringing into service telecommunications systems including bespoke and COTS software applications.
  • Experience in delivery in a System of Systems Environment 

 

Qualifications for the Requirements Engineer:

  • Degree or equivalent in Telecommunications or Electronic Engineering. HNC/HND with equivalent, relevant experience is valued.

  • The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC security clearance for this role.
