The Role
As a Competency Business Partner, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Babcock group recognises the importance of developing a highly skilled and experienced workforce to support our current business needs and those of the future. In order achieve a standardised group approach, Babcock are introducing a completely new Competency framework that will be implemented alongside a global learning and competency management system.
Day to day, you’ll work as part of a newly developed team created to ensure the business are fully supported during this time of significant change.
- Acting as an SME on all things competency related you will guide the business through the implementation of our new competency framework and system.
- Developing role and competency profiles, analysing and exploring training needs through a critical but constructive lens.
- Ensure our workforce are competent and compliant, by fully understanding both internal and external regulatory requirements.
- Longer term you will support the business through the audit process, and subsequent action resolutions, ensuring we achieve whole business learning and improvement from this centralised approach.
- Act on a advisory basis with a focus on compliance, competency & training needs analysis, embed policy and process to support the development of optimised training / competency management.
Essential Experience of the Competency Business Partner:
- Experience of implanting and / or maintaining competency management processes / systems.
- Background of working in a highly regulated technical / engineering environment.
- A proven learning and development background.
- Demonstrable knowledge/experience of developing and designing training interventions.
- Proven ability to determine the benefits and drawbacks of various developmental / competency management approaches and strategies.
This is a full-time position that allows for you to work fully remotely.
Qualifications for the Competency Business Partner:
IOSH Managing Safely/NEBOSH Certificate are desirable but, not essential.
Learning and Development associated qualification(s) are desirable, but not essential.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
