The role

 

As Change and Communication Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving the people, behavioural and cultural aspects of Babcock’s global Digital Engineering transformation. This is an exciting opportunity to shape how thousands of specialists across engineering, operations and corporate functions adopt new digital tools, processes and ways of working that strengthen national security, modernise engineering capability and improve efficiency across the organisation.

 

 

This role will lead the people side of digital engineering transformation to ensure that engineers and specialists across the business understand, engage with, and adopt new digital ways of working.

 

 

Day-to-day, you’ll work at the heart of a major enterprise‑wide programme, shaping behaviours and ensuring teams navigate change confidently while fostering a positive, engaging and informed transformation experience.  

 

 

  • Develop and deliver clear, compelling communication strategies that engage diverse audiences across regions and business units.
  • Lead the people‑centred aspects of digital transformation, ensuring readiness, adoption and long‑term sustainment.
  • Anticipate and respond constructively to resistance, helping teams adapt confidently to new ways of working.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior leaders, project teams and frontline users to promote change alignment and collaboration.
  • Shape and refine change approaches using feedback, behavioural insight and organisational maturity.

 

 

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days onsite and days working from home.

 

 

Essential experience of the Change and Communication Lead

 

  • Extensive experience delivering change management in large‑scale technology or engineering programmes.
  • Proven background supporting enterprise or global transformation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of engineering or technically‑led organisational environments.
  • Demonstrated experience creating structured change management and communication plans.

 

 

Qualifications for the Change and Communication Lead

 

Essential:

  • Degree in Business, Communications, Psychology, Engineering or a related field.

 

 

Desirable:

  • Prosci, ADKAR or equivalent change management certification.

 

 

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.  Must be British Nationals
