The Driver/ Handler is based within our Aviation business area.

The role
The difference our new Driver/ Handler will make
As a Driver/ Handler you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be vital for the contract as this role will be providing essential transport and ensuring a smooth operation.
Day to day, you’ll ensure the provision of professional driving for all nominated tasks as required to meet or exceed customer and company expectations, undertake any driving duties as required by the contract, to support flying operations and UWAS, daily/ weekly and any other maintenance checks required to ensure vehicle safety and compliance to support the contract, control vehicle related administration within Babcock guidelines, and ensure all personal licences, medicals and competencies are maintained, assist in the ground movement of aircraft and be a key part in our flight-line operations, prepare aircraft for the upcoming days flying, conducting see-in and see-off procedures as well as being authorised to carry out fuel and oil replenishment on the aircraft and once authorised you’ll also be undertaking daily maintenance checks on the company owned aircraft (A Check), carrying out pre-use checks and be responsible for minor scheduled maintenance on company owned Ground Support Equipment (GSE).

This role provides Onsite working at St. Athan however, the company may, on occasion, ask you to deploy temporarily to other sites or support detachments at other operating locations.
Essential experience
• PSV, LGV, & ADR Qualified (candidates who do not hold all licenses may still be considered)
• Clean Driving Licence
• Working knowledge of RAF/DVSA/DGSA and Babcock Transport administration
• Working knowledge of Transport & Driver legal requirements
• Ability to demonstrate practical and theoretical standards requirements
• Meet eye colour vision of CP2/CP3 for airfield airside operations
• Obtain or have the ability to obtain a baseline security check
