Salary - £34,818.90 + bonus (overtime may be available)

 

Babcock Emergency Services & Training is one of the largest providers of support services to the emergency services sector. We manage vehicles, equipment, facilities and training on behalf of the London Fire Brigade, Metropolitan Police Service, New Dimension, Highways Agency and Associated British Ports.

 

About the role

We are now actively recruiting for a Motor Vehicle Technician to service and repair vehicles. As part of your role, you’ll repair and complete vehicles in accordance with procedures, to our high quality standards.

 

In addition, you’ll:

  • Repair vehicles, components and accessories including removal and fitting of new parts
  • Provide technical and diagnostic support to colleagues
  • Analyse and report on additional damage, and check all new parts
  • Order replacement parts ensuring correct documentation and procedures
  • Keep up-to-date with bulletins, procedures and technical/industry information
  • Maintain the workshop, tools and equipment in a safe and clean manner
  • Be aware of COSHH regulations, including waste disposal and storage of substances

 

What do I need, to do the role?

  • Proven experience in a Motor Vehicle Body Fitter (Strip and Fit) role
  • City & Guilds 1and 2 in Motor Vehicle Body Repairs or NVQ levels 2 and 3 or equivalent
  • Hold or working toward a Master Technician qualification
  • Completion of manufacturer training through Ford, Vauxhall or BMW
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of diagnostic equipment
  • Good level of industry knowledge/awareness
  • Flexible,proactive, team player
  • Computer literate
  • Full driving licence.
