At Babcock we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Engineering Administrator at the our Royal School of Military Engineering  (RSME) site.


RSME provides core training capabilities, including driver training of specialist military and civilian vehicles.  Within the Workshop, vehicle and equipment maintenance/servicing is actioned, which ensures military vehicles are brough up to exacting standards. The workshop manages a variety of over 140 vehicle parts and equipment, including Land Rovers and heavy 37/40-ton vehicles.


The Role

As a Engineering Administrator, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be responsible for delivering crucial engineering administrative support to the Workshop on a daily basis. You’ll serve as the central hub in the Workshop, handling the receipt and issuance of equipment and documentation, you will also:  

 

  • Maintain and update records for equipment maintenance and repair using MOD asset management systems known as JAMES, with training provided if needed. 
  • Supply equipment owners and Engineering Supervisors with forecasts for equipment maintenance activities adhering to MoD polices.
  • Coordinate and schedule dangerous goods ADR inspections and any secondary contractor maintenance for MOD equipment
  • Fulfill the responsibilities of technical librarian in alignment with MoD policies


This role is 37 hours per week, providing a fantastic 4 ½ day work week (Monday to Thursday: 0800 – 1630, Friday: 0800 – 1300). You will primarily work onsite (with flexible working options available once established) based at RSME Minley, Hampshire.


Essential Experience of the Engineering Administrator

  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office Word and Excel
  • Experienced with administrative tasks and responsibilities

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain BPSS security clearance for this role.
