Working alongside multidisciplinary engineers, subject matter experts and customers, you'll help develop innovative solutions that make a real difference. From concept through to verification, validation and acceptance, you'll play a key role in delivering technology that supports critical operations while developing your own expertise in a fast-growing and highly specialised environment.

 

The role

As a Systems Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Your work will help deliver advanced Radio Frequency communications capabilities that support critical defence operations and contribute directly to national security.  

 

You will be collaborating with multidisciplinary engineers, subject matter experts and customers, you'll help develop innovative communications solutions from concept through to verification, validation and acceptance. You'll use your expertise to ensure the right solutions are delivered, rigorously tested and ready for deployment, while gaining valuable experience on complex programmes at the forefront of defence communications.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:

 

  • Provide Systems Engineering expertise in the delivery of highly complex RF-Comms projects in line with the Engineering Management Plan and systems engineering processes.
  • Support Validation, Verification, Test and Acceptance activities and participating in the building, testing and trialling of solutions.
  • Create and presenting technical engineering documents and supporting reviews and managing updates of documentation through the lifecycle, particularly looking at building acceptance and test cases linked to Verification and Validation Requirements Matrix.
  • Work with the Operations team and cross-functional and transversal Subject Matter Experts to plan and execute project delivery.
  • Liaise with the relevant Principal Systems Engineer and Project Manager to ensure overall delivery of the project to schedule and budget.

 

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the onsite and 2 days working from home.

 

Essential experience of the Systems Engineer

  • A knowledge of holistic lifecycle management in a System of Systems Approach Environment with respect to context covering Software & Hardware integration experience
  • Engineering expertise across the engineering life cycle V-Model or equivalent from initial concepts, requirements, design, implementation, integration, verification, validation, maintenance, and supportability.
  • Demonstrable systems engineering experience with a history in Verification, Validation and Transition to Service, including test plan, case and script development for complex systems

 

Qualifications for the Systems Engineer

  • Degree or equivalent in Telecommunications or Electronic Engineering. HNC/HND with equivalent, relevant experience is valued and welcomed

 

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) and Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role.  Must be Sole UK National.
