The role
As a Systems Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Babcock Mission Systems is growing, and we need you to support us delivering key engineering services to the MoD and Partners Across Government for various communications, Signals Intelligence, Situation Awareness and projects in CEMA Maritime.

 

Day to day, you’ll support Mission Systems in delivering the next generation of Beyond Line of Sight Radio Frequency Communications solutions for a variety of national and international customers.

 

  • Lead and manage design solutions, maturing system architecture, product design and producing contract engineering deliverables
  • Own and direct interfaces and trade-offs between systems, sub systems and functions
  • Lead the technical solutions in response to customer requirements, from concepts through to in-life support
  • Develop, build, test and trial solutions
  • Create high quality design documentation

 

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is adaptable and can be delivered from various locations including Plymouth and Bristol.

Essential experience of the Systems Engineer:

  • Hold the ability and drive to think with a systems perspective as defined by INCOSE.
  • Ability to create and manage interfaces, specifications and certificates, producing boundary views and identifying ownership across the System of Interest (SoI), Wider Systems of Interest (WSoI) and its environment.    
  • Engineering expertise across the engineering lifecycle V-Model from initial concepts, requirements, design, implementation, integration, verification, validation, maintenance and supportability
  • You will demonstrate System concepts and lifecycle selection, System capability issues, Enterprise and technology environment, Architectural design, Concept generation and Functional analysis.

 

Qualifications for the Systems Engineer: 

  • HNC/HND or Degree in Telecommunications or Electronic Engineering however, we value difference and don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and/or willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
