The role

As a Supportability Engineer, you’ll take on a role that’s truly unique. This position combines your engineering expertise with project management skills to ensure the effective maintenance and safety of the UK’s naval fleet. Your contributions will be crucial in maintaining the operational readiness of the nation’s nuclear submarines — work that directly supports national security and defence.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll work within the Requirements Planning Team who are committed to the development and implementation of work package management for the maintenance of Naval Nuclear Submarines.

 

  • Coordinate with teams to align requirements and ensure submarines return to sea safely and on time.
  • Review data and analyse work packages for accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage change control processes throughout delivery.
  • Provide technical support and oversight across multiple work packages.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to maintain clear communication.

 

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.

 

Essential experience of the Supportability Engineer

  • Proven experience working within an engineering environment.
  • Solid understanding of engineering documentation and compliance processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.

 

Qualifications for the Supportability Engineer

  • HNC / BTEC Level 5 in a relevant STEM discipline or equivalent experience in an engineering field.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
