The role
As an Assistant Project Manager you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The Babcock SSE Submarine Programme Management Team directly supports the SDA ISM Prog (In-Service Submarines Programme Team) with Advanced Planning and Organisational Development activities. Including the provision of direct support to maintenance planning definition and ratification and improving maintenance planning policy alignment.
As a Project Professional, you will be reporting into the Submarine Programme Team lead, supporting the Head of Planning, and directly assisting the SDA ISM Prog Team.
Day to day, you’ll be required to undertake regular liaison with a variety of stakeholders to ensure accuracy and achievement of the required quality to satisfy our exacting customer:
- Assisting with the management of contractual lines and deliverables;
- Supporting Babcock in the continued development of the Advanced Planning function, working closely with the teams involved in the Advanced Planning process;
- Supporting Babcock in driving adherence and alignment to the maintenance planning policy timescales;
- Supporting Babcock in the development, alignment and management of the Submarine enterprise risks and assumptions;
Essential experience of the Assistant Project Manager:
- Knowledge of submarine in-service support arrangements is beneficial.
- Demonstrable experience in stakeholder management across varying management levels.
- Demonstrable experience in project or programme management environment.
- Required; you will have significant experience Microsoft Office products including developing and/or managing project schedules
- This is a full time, permanent position 36 hours a week to be based in Bristol or remotely with Hybrid working from home options (2 days in the office per week).
Qualifications for the Assistant Project Manager
- A bachelor’s degree or HNC/HND in engineering / project management / construction or similar. (desirable)
- The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC Clearance security clearance for this role.
