The role
As a Strategic Programme Procurement Specialist, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be supporting the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and partners in delivering next-gen of submarine capabilities enhancing availability and through-life performance of in-service Submarines.

Day-to-day, you’ll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders daily to provide Babcock's in-service submarine supply chain support and expertise, ensuring strategic outcomes for the MoD. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Challenge and manage key internal stakeholders to enable transformative practices
• Introduce innovative ideas from the supply chain
• Oversee procurement activities and project delivery
• Deliver and present best practice supply chain reporting, knowledge, and expertise

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Strategic Programme Procurement Specialist

• Proven experience in strategic supply chain planning, transformation, or global sourcing.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate across organisational boundaries
• Commercial awareness and understanding of supply chain risk 
• Experience in delivering supply chain improvements

Qualifications for the Strategic Programme Procurement Specialist 

• MCIPS accreditation or willingness to work towards this as part of Continuous Profession Development is essential
