As a Software Support Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting one of the most technically advanced defence programmes in the UK. You will help plan, develop and manage the digital and computer resources that underpin the through‑life support of Royal Navy submarine platforms, now and in the future.
Day-to-day, you’ll support the development of Support Solutions for Digital Assets including in-scope Hardware, Software and Firmware over various in-service and future Royal Navy platforms along with shore establishments.
- Supporting the development of support solutions for digital assets, including hardware, software and firmware
- Driving or contributing to Integrated Logistics Support activities, with a focus on computer resources and software support
- Analysing information to enable effective software support analysis and informed engineering decisions
- Creating and maintaining technical reports that support programme, compliance and process requirements
- Identifying issues and developing practical proposals for investigations, improvements and long‑term solutions
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Software Support Engineer
- Experience supporting systems or digital assets within a highly regulated industry
- Working knowledge of computer resources, software environments or digital infrastructure
- Ability to analyse technical information and translate it for different stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, self‑driven approach with a focus on continuous improvement

The successful candidate must be a Sole UK National and be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
