In 2021, Babcock were awarded a £120 million contract for successful delivery of the new Defence Strategic Radio Service to critical military operations. This multi-million-pound investment in frontline radio communications will provide our Armed Forces with cutting-edge technology that allows them to connect effectively across a range of challenging environments.

 

The role
Aa Service Delivery Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll play a vital part in ensuring the seamless operation of key communication sites, directly contributing to the effectiveness and reliability of critical military radio services.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll oversee the delivery and management of critical communication sites across multiple locations, including Cyprus, Ascension Islands, and Gibraltar. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure the project aligns with customer requirements, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring positive outcomes. Managing teams of teams, you’ll lead a workforce of 120, driving performance, ensuring positive profit margins, and managing people effectively. You’ll also:

 

  • Take ownership of the project’s profit and loss, ensuring financial targets are met through effective budget management and cost control.
  • Proactively manage risks and operational challenges to maintain service delivery standards across multiple international sites.

 

You’ll ideally be within a commutable distance to Bristol, Ashton Vale, but we’re open to considering candidates based further afield. While much of the role can be carried out from home, there will be a requirement to travel to UK sites as needed.

 

Essential experience of the Service Delivery Manager:

 

  • Proven experience in delivering operational services, ensuring successful outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage profit and loss, with accountability for achieving positive margins
  • Strong people management skills, including experience leading and coordinating multiple teams

 

Qualifications for the Service Delivery Manager:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
