The role
As a Senior Supportability Engineer, you’ll have a role that offers the chance to grow your career on complex, high impact projects while contributing to national security and engineering excellence.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll help shape the maintenance strategy and through life supportability for one of the UK’s most significant defence programmes. You’ll analyse design and in service technical data, derive optimised maintenance tasks, and provide technical leadership across multi disciplinary teams, directly influencing availability and safety for Royal Navy personnel at sea.  

  • Lead engineering workstreams and oversee project deliverables to meet programme milestones. 
  • Facilitate working groups across industry partners, the MOD, naval stakeholders and internal engineering teams. 
  • Develop maintenance task information and support the production of Maintenance Task Instructions using technical design data. 
  • Ensure compliance with engineering governance, safety standards and regulatory requirements. 
  • Report progress, risks and opportunities, providing clear, evidence based recommendations.

 

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with a minimum of 2 days in the office/onsite.

 

Essential experience of the Senior Supportability Engineer

  • Strong background in Integrated Product Support, Maintenance Planning or Support Engineering on complex programmes. 
  • Advanced data analysis and interpretation skills, turning complex datasets into actionable insights. 
  • Proven experience leading engineering projects to scope, schedule and budget. 
  • Skilled in risk identification, assessment and mitigation. 
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with confidence presenting technical topics to varied audiences.
  • LSAR exposure and/or ex Royal Navy Integrated Logistic Support experience - Desirable

 

Qualifications for the Senior Supportability Engineer

  • HNC or above in mechanical or electrical engineering (or equivalent relevant experience).

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
