This is an exciting opportunity to join our Mission Systems business, supporting the delivery of critical defence and engineering programmes. You'll play a key role in ensuring complex projects meet customer, regulatory and business quality requirements, helping deliver solutions that contribute to national security and operational excellence. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to influence quality culture, drive continuous improvement, engage with customers and stakeholders, and make a lasting impact across high-profile projects.
As a Senior Quality Engineer, you'll provide expert quality support across the project lifecycle, helping teams deliver to the highest standards of quality, safety and performance. This is a varied and influential role where you'll work closely with project teams, customers and leadership to ensure successful outcomes while developing your own expertise within a leading international engineering organisation.
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
- Providing quality advice, guidance and support to project teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Identifying and managing customer, regulatory and internal quality requirements across multiple projects.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and driving positive quality culture change.
- Assessing quality risks and implementing mitigation actions, escalating where appropriate.
- Building strong relationships with customers and stakeholders while representing quality interests across programmes.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 1 / 2 days onsite and 2 / 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Senior Quality Engineer
- Significant practical experience in a Quality Engineering role within a regulated engineering, manufacturing, defence, aerospace or related industry.
- Strong understanding of quality management principles throughout a product or service delivery lifecycle.
- Experience supporting projects and working with customer-facing stakeholders.
- Proven ability to drive quality improvements and support organisational culture change.
- Experience identifying, managing and mitigating quality-related risks.
Qualifications for the Senior Quality Engineer
Desirable:
- ONC, HNC or NVQ Level 3 qualification in a Quality, science, engineering discipline, or at least 3 years working in a Quality role.
- Membership of an applicable body, i.e., CQI is preferred.
- ISO 9001 auditor

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
