The role

As a Senior Business Analyst, you’ll lead the analysis and design activity for medium to large‑scale projects within a portfolio of digital and business transformation programmes. Your work will support complex asset management solutions, helping the organisation make better, data‑driven decisions across engineering, operations and support functions.

Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with customers, project managers, architects and technical teams to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements and robust system designs. With a varied pipeline of work and evolving priorities, the role offers continuous learning, professional growth and the chance to make a tangible difference to how nationally important services are delivered.

• Leading business analysis activities across medium to large‑scale transformation projects
• Capturing and managing detailed requirements, producing functional and solution specifications
• Modelling business and information systems, delivering high‑quality design documentation
• Building strong stakeholder relationships, acting as a trusted partner to customers and delivery teams
• Supporting project delivery, working closely with project managers and technical architects

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with a minimum of 2 days in the office/onsite.

Essential experience of the Senior Business Analyst

• Strong experience in requirements capture and requirements management
• Experience working across the full software development lifecycle, including agile and waterfall delivery
• Proven capability in business and information modelling, including entity relationship and class models
• Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria and functional specifications
• Confidence applying IT solutions to solve complex business problems

Qualifications for the Senior Business Analyst

• Degree‑level qualification in an IT‑related discipline, or equivalent proven professional experience
• Professional business analysis certifications are advantageous
