As a Security Risk and Compliance Lead, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll play a vital, high‑profile part in strengthening the security posture of a major national defence programme. Working in an exciting, influential role, you’ll help shape how security risks are identified, assessed, and managed across a complex, high‑visibility environment.
Day-to-day, you’ll shape how risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated across a high‑visibility environment directly contributing to the safety, resilience, and operational readiness of the origination.
- Assess, record, report and action risks across Personnel Security and Nuclear Operations.
- Establish and maintain policies, processes and capabilities to manage risks relating to people, information, services and assets.
- Manage reporting platforms to investigate security breaches and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver training to enhance security culture and awareness across the function.
- Provide continuity and resilience across the security team, supporting workstreams and colleagues.
You’ll work 35 hours per week, based at our Babcock Technology Centre in Stoke Gifford Bristol. Travel to other Babcock and customer sites will be expected.
Essential experience of the Security Risk and Compliance Lead:
- Experience working in a security role within a Defence, List N or FSC environment.
- Knowledge of UK security vetting, government classifications, secure information handling and IT systems.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent communication skills.
- Flexible, adaptable, and collaborative, with strong customer‑service focus.
- Skilled in time management, workload organisation and use of digital tools/technology.
Qualifications for the Security Risk and Compliance Lead:
- English GCSE (C or above) or NVQ equivalent.
- Security Risk Management qualification or equivalent experience.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance. There may also be a requirement to achieve Developed Vetting (DV) clearance once in post.
