The role

 

The difference our new Satellite Ground Segment Lead will make

 

As a Satellite Ground Segment Lead you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Supporting the vital Skynet Service Delivery Organisation to deliver new and modified subsystems across the Satellite Ground Segment RF to IF. Reporting to the Head of Transformation, you’ll also be part of a multi-million pound programme of technology change. This is a fast-paced, challenging role on a significant project.


Day to day, you’ll be responsible for not only defining and delivering work packages for a range of Satellite Ground systems from multiple OEM vendors and partners but also the full Engineering lifecycle from requirements, design, production, test, integration and assurance. You’ll discover, capture and assess the extant design in an architectural model and become the Technical Lead for the Satellite Ground Segment, including the managing of 3rd party suppliers. You’ll represent Babcock at stakeholder meetings, Governance forums, Design Reviews and Readiness Assessment activities.

Essential experience

 

•    Proven experience in the design, implementation and delivery of Satellite Ground systems
•    In-depth knowledge of Systems Engineering processes on large and/or complex engineering projects
•    Demonstratable experience in the defence or telecommunication industry, ideally MILSATCOM but not essential.
