The role
As a Release Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary, where you will be primarily responsible for the Release Management process which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across the enterprise.
You will have a detailed understanding of ISO20000 or ITIL processes, and exceptional knowledge of the systems development lifecycle. You’ll be adaptable and won’t be phased by changing priorities, actively seeking new ideas and techniques to take us forward into the future.
Responsibilities as Release Manager will also include:
- The handling and assurance of all releases in order to minimize the impact upon service quality and day-to-day operations of the organization.
- Working with the Senior Management Team to assure and improve the release process and practices associated with the ISO20000 standard.
- Measuring and monitoring progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and that they meet or exceed expectations.
- Participating in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings to discuss release scope and/or roadblocks
- Defining and measuring success metrics.
This role is full time - 36 hours per week and will be based on site at Babcock Technology Centre with hybrid working from home arrangements.
Essential experience of the Release Manager:
- Detailed understanding of ISO20000 and ITIL processes.
- Exceptional knowledge of systems development lifecycle
- Able to meet operational deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, coupled with attention to detail.
- Proven record in creating, reviewing, documenting & improving processes/work instructions
- Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Please note that this position is subject to national security vetting. The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements (this may include obtaining SC, NNPPI or Developed Vetting (DV) level of security clearances).
