The Role
As a Programme Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will lead a multi-disciplinary and multi-project team to deliver successful programme outcomes over the 10-year life of the contract with a near term focus on system acceptance and deployment.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll:

  • Provide leadership, support and coherence to a large multi-disciplinary programme team, helping them navigate complex problems by setting clear and prioritised short- and long-term objectives to meet delivery commitments and financial goals.
  • Be responsible for interacting directly with both internal and external key stakeholders, ensuring their awareness and confidence, as well as effectively managing their concerns and expectations.
  • Deliver coaching and mentoring to members of the project management and controls team driving up their competence and therefore impact to the programme.
  • Set the conditions for revenue growth through active management of organic growth opportunities and development of capture plans for related opportunities of interest.


This role is full time, 37 hours per week and requires regular travel to Avonmouth, Bristol OR Devonport, Devon on a weekly basis alongside home working arrangements.


Essential Experience of the Programme Manager

  • Have a strong level of Project and Programme Management knowledge, plus experience and track record in delivering complex engineering and technology programmes from initial design through to implementation and service integration.
  • Experienced in identifying, understanding and management of programme risk.
  • Excellent budget management track record with experience of control account structures
  • Comfortable and confident communicating with a wide range of stakeholders both internal and external upwards and downwards, including customer facing.
  • Have experience in building, leading and growing high-performance teams.


Qualifications for the Programme Manager 

  • Holds a recognised project management qualification such as APM Project Management Qualification, Chartered Project Professionals or equivalent.

 

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. The successful candidate will be able to start on Standard (BPSS) security clearance but will need to achieve Security Clearance (SC) security check once in the role.
