The role
As a Production Planning and Control Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will join a diverse and energetic team of production, project, engineering, and other functional staff working together to deliver cutting-edge defence projects to UK and international clients.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Planning & Control Manager to oversee and manage the planning and control stream within our manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be accountable for our on-time delivery of products and assemblies, using operational governance, and cost controls to meet our customer demands working with key stakeholders. This role also involves leading a team of scheduling and production control personnel, collaborating with project managers and operational leads, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

Day-to-day, you’ll oversee:

  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of planning and control staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and job satisfaction.
  • Delivery Management: Oversee the entire delivery process, ensuring products are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
  • Facility Control: Implement and maintain control procedures to ensure the facility operates and flows as required to meet deadlines through accurate scheduling and capacity planning.
  • Operational Governance: Hold regular meetings to ensure operational governance, holding the facilities production managers to account for delivery performance and cost control.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Work closely with project teams to ensure customer requirements are met and any issues are resolved promptly. Function as the primary point of contact for customers regarding delivery and control matters.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on delivery performance, facility metrics, and process improvements to stakeholders.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based at Ashton House.

Essential experience of the Production Planning and Control Manager:

  • Proven experience in planning, delivery, and control management within a manufacturing environment or significant ability in production operations or project management.
  • Strong knowledge of production facility planning, control, and governance requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer requirements.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team and engage with various external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in using ERP and/or scheduling systems.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
