As a Principal Infrastructure and Information Technology Services Analyst, you’ll be a recognised technical expert within a specialist infrastructure team supporting mission-critical information technology systems used across Ministry of Defence environments. You'll play a pivotal role in maintaining the availability, security and performance of essential infrastructure services that support national security operations.
Day-to-day, you’ll have an opportunity to work at the forefront of defence technology, providing expertise across enterprise infrastructure, virtualisation, networking, server platforms, application services and secure digital environments. Your work will directly contribute to the reliability of systems that matter, while giving you the opportunity to expand your technical leadership, influence strategic decisions and develop your career within a world-leading defence, aerospace and engineering organisation.
- Supporting and maintaining critical infrastructure applications, platforms and information technology services.
- Managing and monitoring server, storage, virtualisation and network environments to maximise availability and resilience.
- Installing, configuring and upgrading infrastructure hardware, software and enterprise applications.
- Troubleshooting complex technical issues and implementing improvements to enhance service performance and reliability.
- Acting as a technical subject matter expert, providing guidance and expertise across infrastructure technologies and operational support activities.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Babcock Technology Centre. Travel to other Babcock and customer sites will be expected.
Essential experience of the Principal Infrastructure and Information Technology Services Analyst
- Experience supporting infrastructure applications and services within complex, high-availability environments.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise technologies including Microsoft Exchange, Skype for Business, SolarWinds and Systems Centre Configuration Manager.
- Experience building, supporting and upgrading server hardware and infrastructure platforms.
- Proven experience supporting VMware virtualisation, Windows Server environments, networking and firewall technologies.
- Experience supporting Linux operating systems and managing infrastructure monitoring, auditing and operational support activities.
Qualifications for the Principal Infrastructure and Information Technology Services Analyst
- Professional certifications in Infrastructure, Microsoft, VMware, Networking or related technologies - Desirable
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role.
