The Role
As our Operations Director, you’ll take on a unique and vital role. As part of the Mission Systems Senior Leadership Team and reporting to the CEO, your responsibilities will encompass strategic planning, project management, and overseeing operations across various capabilities, including Project Management, Operations Planning, Business Support, Security, Quality, Environment Health & Safety (EH&S) , Environmental Social Governance (ESG) and Transformation.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll fulfil the following responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver UK Mission Systems' operational strategy, aligned with the global strategy.
  • Oversee and integrate all operational activities and projects, ensuring alignment with global frameworks.
  • Review and approve budgets for capability areas.
  • Ensure governance and risk management for capability areas.
  • Manage performance based on SLAs, taking corrective actions as needed.
  • Identify and develop capabilities to meet business needs, ensuring programme governance and deliverability of key projects.

 

This role is full time, 37-hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with travel to sites across the UK.

 

Essential Experience of the Operations Director

  • Significant expertise in a large, complex, global organisation.
  • Strong understanding of internal stakeholder needs and developing effective solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders across borders.
  • Ability to lead diverse teams, demonstrating strong management and motivational skills.
  • Ability to develop talent and appropriate succession plans to meet our future requirements across Babcock sectors

 

Qualifications for the Operations Director

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role and possibly Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance.
