The Role

Reporting to the Lead Finance Business Partner and working alongside other Finance Business Partners, you will be responsible for a portfolio of contracts providing key financial support, as well as working closely with the Operational team to improve processes and provide robust reporting to enable them to make key decisions.

 

As a Finance Business Partner, you’ll have an important role that’s supports critical programmes within the Mission Systems Effectors business unit.  You’ll be working on a wide range of finance activities from ensuring robust financial controls to delivering project forecasts as well as reviewing projects to ensure strong trading margins and accurate profit opportunities.

 

Day to day, you’ll be the subject matter expert providing financial support to both programme and finance colleagues including cash management reporting and commentary, maintaining financial models to support analysis on current projects and new business, supporting internal and external audits and deputising for the Lead Finance Business Partner when needed.

 

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days onsite and days working from home.

 

Essential Experience of the Finance Business Partner

 

  • Ideally you will be a qualified accountant or working towards your qualification however, just s important is the ability to work across functions and articulate financial concepts within a fast-moving contract accounting environment.

  • Be a confident and self-motivated team player.

  • Ideally having spent time in a business facing role.

  • Advanced numeric, analytical and technical skills.

  • Have excellent communication skills.

  • Experience within a large organisation which operates an ERP system.

 

Qualifications for the Finance Business Partner

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA).

 

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be a UK or US national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
