The Role
As a Finance Business Partner, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be responsible for providing key financial support to the Space Business Unit as well as working closely with the Operational team to improve processes and provide robust, accurate analysis through meaningful reporting to enable informed decisions.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll:

  • Provide meaningful and accurate information to the Finance Director, Lead Finance Business Partner and to the Space Business Units to aid understanding of the underlying performance and identifying any issues that ultimately drive financial performance. 
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with the business leads, managers and bidding teams providing monthly analysis, reports, schedules and models.
  • Produce meaningful and accurate Forecasts, Budgets and supporting analysis/schedules on-time and to the highest standard.
  • Provide key financial support to internal and external audits, ensuring accuracy, compliance and quality is always maintained.
  • Input towards the monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations and Overhead review packs, reviewing regularly with all key stakeholders. As well as contribution to cash management, weekly forecasting and senior commentary.

 

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with up to 3 days onsite and 2 days working from home. You will be required to travel to Ashton Vale, Bristol and Corsham Wiltshire.

 

Essential Experience of the Finance Business Partner

  • Ability to bring big ideas and solves complex problems with simple and elegant solutions. 
  • Continuously champion high performance, challenge the status quo, actively seek out different perspectives and speak up. 
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office – in particular, Excel modelling skills, good knowledge of MS Office.  
  • Have experience of IFS finance system.
  • Have an organised approach to work with experience of working to tight deadlines.
  • Be a confident and self-motivated team player.

 

Qualifications for the Finance Business Partner

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. However, the successful candidate will be able to start on Standard (BPSS) security clearance but will then need to obtain Security Check (SC) security clearance once in post.
