The role

As an Environment Advisor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Mission Systems is transforming its approach to environmental improvement, following both the launch of Babcock International Groups Environmental Commitments (that range across Water and Waste Management to biodiversity, energy, and environmental management) and a changing legislative landscape for environmental management.

 

Day to day, you’ll be a key member of the EHS Team and assist in developing our environmental management systems and procedures. 

 

  • Provide specialist advice on effective management, implementation and adherence to the environmental management system and other management plans.
  • Provide advice to sites regarding the management of environmental risk through active review of aspect and impact registers.
  • Interpret environmental permits and consents, translating any requirements into effective inspection and audit programs to ensure all requirements are met by employees and contractors.
  • Assess and interpret any business wide and customer requirements into Mission System policy, procedures and strategy.
  • Monitor, assess and report field environmental performance to management, employees and contractors to create awareness and improve overall behaviours.

 

This role is full time, 37 hours per week, and provides an agile working arrangement, with a possible 1 day per week in at our Ashton House site in South Bristol.

 

Essential experience of the Environment Advisor

  • Previous Environmental / Sustainability / EHS / Advisor or Manager gained in a similar role.
  • Interpretation and application of relevant legislation.

 

Qualifications for the Environment Advisor

  • Degree or suitable qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Sustainability or similar discipline
  • IEMA Certificate
  • Member of IEMA or related professional body


Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC security clearance for this role.
