As Director of Security, you will shape and drive the security strategy for a critical part of our business, protecting people, information, assets and infrastructure while enabling innovation, growth and operational excellence.
Working closely with senior leaders, government stakeholders, customers and industry partners, you'll provide strategic direction across physical, personnel, information and cyber security disciplines. Day-to-day, your expertise will help maintain customer trust, strengthen resilience and ensure compliance in an increasingly complex security environment.
- Providing expert security advice and assurance to senior leaders, customers, government bodies and key stakeholders.
- Driving security risk management, compliance and assurance activities across physical, personnel, information and cyber security.
- Building, leading and developing a high-performing team of security professionals and managers.
- Strengthening a positive security culture that enables business growth while protecting critical assets and information.
- Leading the development and delivery of the sector-wide security strategy and governance framework.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days in the office and days working from home. There will be regular travel across the UK.
Essential experience of the Director of Security Land and Mission Systems
- Significant experience in a senior security leadership role supporting Executive or Senior Leadership Teams.
- Extensive knowledge of Government Security Functional Standards (GovS007) and relevant aspects of JSP 440.
- Proven experience leading security governance, risk management and compliance programmes.
- Strong knowledge of Information Risk Management, Information Assurance and ISO 27001 principles.
- Experience advising senior stakeholders on complex security matters and contractual security obligations.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) and Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role.
