The Role
As a Data Analyst, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. An exciting opportunity for someone to work in a newly established team delivering modelling and analytic services in support of Babcock’s long-term submarine maintenance and disposal programme.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll operate in a small team responsible for delivering modelling and analysis outputs in support of the strategic long-term planning of Babcock’s Devonport, Clyde, and Bristol operations:

 

  • Learning and operating Babcock modelling analysis tools to reflect business scenarios and to generate optimised programmes.
  • Undertaking targeted modelling and analysis to answer specific business questions supporting decision making.
  • Supporting development of concepts and software to enhance and complete the Babcock modelling capability.
  • Developing operational and strategic business knowledge and using it to intelligently develop business scenarios / options and their analysis using modelling techniques.
  • Establish the data and information needs for analysis and proactively engage stakeholder to ensure it is secured.

 

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at our Bristol Technology Centre (BTC) site.

 

Essential Experience of the Data Analyst:

  • Programming skills in Python.
  • Experienced or a suitable background to successfully undertake complex modelling, data analysis and operation of supporting tools / techniques.
  • Strong numeracy, logic and problem-solving skills.
  • Database and / or software development and/ or software integration experience
  • Microsoft Power BI experience.

 

Qualifications for the Data Analyst: 

  • Relevant degree (Maths, IT, Computing etc.) or strong relevant academic or vocational background.
