The DSRS Technical & Transition Project Manager role is based within our Mission Systems business area.

The difference our new DSRS Technical & Transition Project Manager will make


As a DSRS Technical & Transition Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Working on an international project of strategic significance you will be responsible for delivering new HF communications technology.  You will be responsible for delivery of the obsolescence programme reporting into the DSRS Programme Lead.  The scope of the contract is to upgrade and enhance legacy networks with the latest generation radio communications products and a world class automated management & control system based on distributed Internet Protocol (IP) technologies.

 

Day to day, you’ll plan, implement, monitor and control the project scope, schedule, resource requirements, budgets, quality and HSE requirements. You’ll deliver the project scope in accordance with commercial requirements and customer needs as well as planning and controlling finances by means of accurate estimation, forecast to complete and strong monitoring and control of spend. You’ll actively identify, plan and control risk and opportunity to maximise value for the customer and our business. You’ll also establish and maintain governance arrangements for the delivery of the project, defining clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities across all project stakeholders and ensuring they are communicated.

Essential experience

 

•    Qualified to degree level or have equivalent experience and hold a APMP qualification.  
•    A track record in managing and successfully delivering large, complex projects throughout the lifecycle, preferably in a defence or national security context is highly advantageous.  
•    Knowledge of High Frequency communication systems or communication techniques
•    Development experience of IT based command and control systems
