We’re working on across the UK and overseas – and with the right commercial support, we can continue to thrive and grow as a business. Whether that’s by working on multi-million-pound bids or collaborating with our business development teams to identify new opportunities within Babcock, our commercial teams are at the heart of creating a safe and secure world for all.

Our Group Commercial Graduate Programme is a two-year journey, focused on developing the next generation of commercial professionals. The programme typically comprises of four six-month placements across Aviation, Marine and Nuclear sectors across the UK.

You’ll work in an environment that brings out your best. By gaining real-world experience alongside our commercial teams, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of our business. The placements you undertake will support your growth and we’ll provide all the training, learning and support you need to accelerate your career. Additionally, we’ll support you in gaining chartered status as a member of the World Commerce and Contracting (WorldCC) Association.

To support you in developing your knowledge and experience across the entire commercial lifecycle, you might be leading elements of bids, managing commercial contracts (including legal aspects), overseeing governance and compliance activities, or identifying new opportunities alongside our business development teams.

In addition to developing your technical skills, the programme will also help you to cultivate essential behavioural skills – allowing you to build collaborative relationships with our customers, partners and other key internal and external stakeholders.

Where you'll be based
Our Commercial programme for Autumn 2025 is a Group programme. Joining a Group Graduate Programme provides you with a unique opportunity to experience various sectors, understand what differentiates their businesses and where the commonalities are. Specifically, you may find yourself in placements at the heart of our Marine, Land, Aviation and Nuclear sector aligned teams. This is a great foundation for an accelerated career as it will offer you broad experience and wide business exposure.

This group programme provides placement opportunities at various UK locations, including Bristol, Plymouth, Warrington, London, Andover, and Walsall in England, as well as multiple sites across Scotland, including HM Naval Base Clyde.

We ask all our graduates to be flexible and willing to move during the programme – you’ll need to be flexible about your location for these cross-sector roles as our different business areas have sites across the UK, placing our specialism closer to the customer. However, we will work with you to understand your preferences and will combine business need with individual preferences where we can.
