As a Business Development and Capture Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth across our Sense and Connect portfolio within Babcock Mission Systems. This is a high‑impact position where strategy meets execution leading complex pursuits, shaping compelling solutions and working alongside technical experts to win and deliver strategically important programmes.
Your work will influence the future of strategic communications capabilities in the United Kingdom and, increasingly, international markets. You will build trusted relationships with customers, partners and internal stakeholders, using insight and creativity to develop solutions that really matter. Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
- Leading complex capture and business development activities across strategic communications campaigns
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, partners and internal teams
- Developing and delivering clear campaign strategies aligned to business growth objectives
- Managing opportunities from early shaping through bid submission and contract mobilisation
- Advising senior operational and project leadership on commercial and capture best practice
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days onsite and days working from home.
Essential experience of the Business Development and Capture Manager
- Proven success in business development, capture and solution development for complex opportunities
- Experience working with customers and suppliers within strategic communications domains
- Strong knowledge of the strategic communications market
- Credibility working across United Kingdom Ministry of Defence and international sectors
- Commercial awareness with the confidence to lead winning, customer‑focused solutions
Qualifications for the Business Development and Capture Manager
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant business or engineering discipline, or equivalent professional experience
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) and Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role.
