The role
As a Government Relations Director, you will lead the development and delivery of government engagement strategy in a complex and dynamic international environment. Operating at senior level, you will build trusted relationships with key stakeholders across government, industry and regulatory bodies, ensuring Babcock is well positioned to deliver across defence, maritime and security programmes.
Day-to-day you’ll be required to:
- Developing and executing government relations strategy across defence, maritime and public sector stakeholders
- Building and maintaining relationships with ministries, regulators and state organisations
- Monitoring and analysing legislative and regulatory developments and advising on commercial impact
- Representing the organisation in consultations, working groups and formal engagements
- Supporting compliance, risk management and ethical business conduct across all activities
This role is based at Jakarta, Indonesia.
Essential experience of the Government Relations Director:
- Demonstrating extensive experience in government relations or regulatory affairs within Indonesia
- Working within defence, maritime or complex regulated industries
- Building relationships with senior government stakeholders and influencing policy outcomes
- Navigating legislative and regulatory frameworks with strong understanding of local systems
- Managing risk and supporting business growth through strategic engagement
Qualifications for the Government Relations Director:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Law, Public Policy, International Relations or equivalent
- Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English
