About the role
Here at Babcock International, we’re looking to recruit a Roster Clerk to be responsible for assisting the Resources Manager in the cost-effective allocation of Production Staff, in liaison with Management teams.

 

Where additional resources are required, or the workload requires skills or qualifications not available within permanently employed staff, the Roster Clerk will assist the Rostering Manager in their procurement from external suppliers.

 

Main Responsibilities include
• Assist in the production of employee rosters to allow cost effective utilisation of the resource in liaison with the relevant Depot Managers in order to meet the resource levels and skills required by the workload as directed in the Planning Meetings.
• Allocation of Training & Competence Courses and arranging efficient release of staff in accordance with rosters.
• Liaise with Agency Suppliers on a weekly basis to address any shortfall of manpower requirements.
• Maintain supplier database and update accordingly to allow selective sourcing of future manpower requirements.
• Provide other administrative support as delegated by the Rostering Manager.

What do I need to do the role?

You will have previous knowledge of roster principles having been involved in the rostering or shift allocation activity of employees including strong administration skills. You will also demonstrate the ability to write clear and concise reports.

 

You will have strong IT skills and are conversant with Microsoft applications, specifically Excel.

 

You will also possess good verbal and written communication skills along with strong planning and organisational ability.

 

What else do I need to know?

This role is initially based at home then at Hamilton office when possible. The office will however, be moving to Bishop Briggs towards the end of the year which is circa 20 miles away from Hamilton.
