The role

As a Quantity Surveyor you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The successful candidate will become part of a team that is the driving force behind our cost management within complex and exciting projects. 

 

Day to day, you’ll be accountable for the commercial administration of a contract (or contracts), ensuring compliance with the contract terms and conditions and Company and Group policies, procedures and delegated authorities. You'll also be expected to:

 

  • Deliver or improve agreed profitability and cash collections targets, ensuring change control and applications for payment are submitted in accordance with the contract and agreed in a timely manner, with minimal impact on cash flow.
  • Manage and support, from commencement to completion, the provision of all commercial deliverables in line with the contract requirements and timescales.
  • Build and manage a collaborative relationship with the customer’s and supply chain’s commercial representatives. Hold regular meetings to review and resolve commercial issues.
  • Attend and prepare appropriate information for project meetings to assist in maximising commercial opportunities and minimising risks.
  • Assist in the production and presentation of periodic contract updates in line with Company reporting requirements.
  • Manage tasks including, cost control, cash collection, change control, contract close-out/final account etc.

 

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with three days in the office/onsite and two days working from home.

 

Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. We are happy to consider flexible, blended working, including part-time, condensed hours, and job sharing. Please ask about alternative patterns of work at interview. 

 

Essential experience of the Quantity Surveyor:

  • Experienced Quantity Surveyor.
  • Experienced in NEC contract management. 
  • Experienced in delivering contracts with value up to £5m.
  • Effective communicator (written and verbal) and experience in negotiation.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • AssocRICS.

 

Qualifications for the Quantity Surveyor:
BSc (hons) in Quantity Surveyor or equivalent qualification.
