The Role

As a Project Accountant, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Babcock supports Translink and other rail industry customers in providing a safe, reliable and efficient rail network across Great Britain. 

Day to day, you’ll be responsible for the production of accurate and timely project financial information, ensuring robust financial controls, maximum efficiency of processes and reporting, and strong corporate governance in line with group requirements.

•    Work with the Finance Manager, Project Managers and Commercial Managers in improving and maintaining the processes used to operate and control project financial performance.  
•    Responsible for the timely and accurate recording, preparation and presentation of project financial information.
•    Responsible for the completeness and accuracy of all financial information presented at the Quarterly, Monthly or Weekly Project reviews. 
•    Timely production of financial project review reports, monthly project financial commentaries, budgets and forecasts.

Essential experience of the Project Accountant:

•    Project Accounting Experience 
•    Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA,) / or equivalent or qualified by experience. 
•    Strong business / process analysis skills. 
•    Excellent influencing and communication skills at all levels. 
•    Ideally, experience in engineering, construction or similar industry. 

This is a full time role, that allows for hybrid working.
